For three years my disc 3 has been dropping in and out of limp mode and showing warning “auto transmission fault, some gears not available” and HDC fault it has been back and fore garage all through covid they have changed EGR valves (4), turbo valve on top, turbo pipe, suspension cylinder (sorry don’t know right names for these things) multiple Hi, I've bought a discovery 2 td5 Auto, i bought it with a gearbox fault and the fault is that there is no drive at all even if you put the leaver in 1 2 3 or drive or reverse. I've checked the linkage and that still works ok and the oil level in the box is fine. Could it be Gearbox, torque converter or auto box ecu, any help appreciated. Regards. This happens intermittently but it also tends to occur more when the vehicle is facing down an incline. Sometimes at the same time, the reversing camera will not operate. It is as if the computer did not detect the Gearbox being put into reverse and is taken by surpise. If a warning light illuminated this time, there should be a fault code logged.
