Mine an 09, has been very reliable. Had it for about 40k miles so far. The only out of ordinary problem I known about is that the motor mounts need to be replaced more frequently than normal. Oh, and they can get quite rusty. My mom's Focus, an 08, is at 325k miles and still trucking along.
staypuftman Washington, DC, 08/23/2013. 2013 Ford Focus Titanium 4dr Hatchback (2.0L 4cyl 6AM) I've had this car over a month, put about 2,000 miles on it and have nothing but good things to say Thatbeing said, compared to the competition, the 2013 Ford Focus suffers from a poor reliability rating, plenty of transmission problems, and clunky controls.

The2018 Ford Focus is a good compact car. It offers better reliability than earlier years with a sporty driving experience. 2013: SEL model and the SE Sport packages discontinued. 2014: No major changes. The ford focus reliability rating is 4.0 out of 5.0. The sel trim features a six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, rear Ithas been extremely reliable. Bought used at 60,000kms, it now has 99,000kms on it. Only consumables have been replaced including front brakes, battery, The2013 has a poor rating but it seems like pretty minor issues (based on cost to repair). I bought my Ford Escape 2013 SEL new. I had several recalls, it is true, but overall I love this car. I have about 27,000 miles on it. Two long road trips ( The2012 Fusion was the fifth model year in that generation, and Ford had ironed out a lot of the kinks by that point. As long as you take care of your basics (fluids - especially transmission - brakes, air filters, etc.) it should keep ticking for a while longer with low to medium maintenance costs. TheFord Focus lineup is plagued with reliability issues, making it one of the most problematic lineups for Ford. The most unreliable Ford Focus years that should be avoided when buying used are , 2012, 2013, and 2015. The 2013 Ford Focus has issues with its transmission system, which can short out and cause safety
TheFocus has a better interior, better ride, better transmission (I'd take the 2013 DSG over Subbie's CVT any day), and better fuel economy, even without a bleh CVT. Cost to own and maintain will be lower on the Focus. And even with all those "boring" qualities, the Focus is a really fun car to drive.
Passengermotor mount leaks and is an easy $60 replacement. There was a recall on the pcv. Found out if it was replaced. Otherwise another easy $50 fix. Find out when the plugs were last done. Valve cover gasket tends to leak,
Ive got a 2017 and it has been quite reliable thus far. I just went past 26k miles on it and I love the gas mileage. My 2017 is an auto with 96k miles. Regular maintenance and zero problems. SE model with the 2L 4 cyl engine. Wish I had found a manual when I bought it but the dealer said they didn’t even sell the focus in manual in the US.

The guy guy who dailies a V6 and gets good fuel economy will turn as many heads and be as happy as someone who buys the V8 and runs it as a track car. Commisar • 10 yr. ago. exactly. Aslong as you get the manual and maintain it properly 200k should be easy. I have 155k on mine with nothing but regular maintenance. New clutch at 140k. Idk any totals, but I’ve got a 2014 hatch that I’ve put almost 100,000 miles in 3 1/2 years ( bought at 23k , now at 115k) still runs smoothly.

Heyeveryone, About to buy a new car, and currently deciding between the Toyota Highlander and the Ford Edge Titanium. I LOVE the way the Edge looks, and it's interior is super comfortable, but I'm concerned about it's reliability considering Ford is mediocre as far as it's rank (Consumer Reports link & YourMechanic link).I was thinking about buying
